Skidaddle first met Lizzie in February 2015 when she turned up for the Aberfoyle Trail Race, 7km of gruelling hill running. This in itself is nothing spectacular but just to make it to the start line she had lost an incredible 10 stone in weight.
In 2011 she lost her mother after a long history of strokes, heart problems & type 2 diabetes – this triggered the need for change. She started her weight loss journey – cycling, attending fitness classes & taking on a personal trainer. The weight started going down (as did the golf handicap). This has by no means been an easy task, but now 10 stone lighter her quality of life is so different to before.
In 2015/16 she took part in several event from 7K to a half marathon over the Mamores, triathlon & a 3K loch swim. 2017 – the cycle section of the Edinburgh Ironman70.3.
She swims regularly in Loch Tay, cycles, kayaks, golfs & is now a qualified Metafit instructor.
Will power is so understated & one thing is for sure…
